Escape room for 20 people in Stockholm: how big groups split

Groups of 11 to 26 play escape rooms at the same time or in two rounds at Questrooms on Södermalm. How the split works, prices and booking.

A group of 20 people plays escape rooms at Questrooms by splitting into smaller teams that play at the same time, or in two rounds. Each room takes 2 to 6 players, so the size of the group decides the plan: 11 to 13, 13 to 20 and 21 to 26 people each have their own setup. This guide starts where groups of 7 to 10 stop and covers a birthday, a bachelorette party or a club outing, with prices and a private event request.

How does an escape room for a big group work?

An escape room for a big group works by splitting the group into teams of 2 to 6 players. At Questrooms, groups of 11 to 20 play at the same time in several rooms, and groups of 21 to 26 play in two rounds while the rest mingle in the lounge. Every team plays its own 60-minute game.

11 to 13 people: BACK-TO-BACK plus a classic room

BACK-TO-BACK puts up to 10 players in the same VR game, across both VR rooms. A group of 11 to 13 splits in two: part of the group plays VR in BACK-TO-BACK, the rest plays a classic room at the same time.

For example, 12 people play as 8 in BACK-TO-BACK and 4 in Russian Mafia. Keep at least 3 players in the classic room: Horror Escape needs 3, and Russian Mafia, difficulty 5 of 5, is recommended for 3 or more if the team is new to escape rooms.

13 to 20 people: three groups at the same time

A group of 13 to 20 splits into three groups that start at the same time. For example, 20 people play as 10 in BACK-TO-BACK, 5 in Horror Escape and 5 in Russian Mafia. Everyone starts together and finishes together, so the whole visit takes about 1.5 hours, including the briefing.

21 to 26 people: four groups in two rounds

A group of 21 to 26 splits into 4 groups and plays in two rounds. Groups A and B play while C and D mingle in the lounge, then the groups swap. Each round has a 60-minute game, so plan for about 2.5 hours in total. The lounge, with coloured lamps, a projector, armchairs and tables, is included in party bookings.

27 people or more

For 27 players or more, Questrooms has Big Team packages with rotating schedules. Send the details, and the team puts together an arrangement for your group. A company group of 8 to 44 has its own team building packages.

Group size Setup Rounds Time
11 to 13 BACK-TO-BACK (up to 10) plus one classic room 1 about 1.5 h
13 to 20 Three groups at the same time 1 about 1.5 h
21 to 26 Four groups: A and B play, then C and D 2 about 2.5 h
27 or more Big Team package with a rotating schedule on request on request

What does an escape room for 20 people cost?

Each room is priced by its own number of players. Twenty people split as 10 in BACK-TO-BACK, 5 in Horror Escape and 5 in Russian Mafia pay 10 × 369 SEK plus 10 × 379 SEK, 7,480 SEK in total, or 374 SEK per person. Players aged 8 to 17 get 15% off.

The price per room depends on the players in it:

  • 2 players: 409 SEK per person
  • 3 players: 399 SEK per person
  • 4 players: 389 SEK per person
  • 5 players: 379 SEK per person
  • 6 players: 369 SEK per person
  • 7 to 10 players in BACK-TO-BACK: 369 SEK per person

You pay on site after the game, by card or Swish. Questrooms does not take cash.

What should a big group know before booking?

Groups over 6 people must cancel or change rooms at least 48 hours ahead, or pay 1,000 SEK per room. If one person does not come, you pay only for the players who play, as long as the number of rooms stays the same. Arrive 15 minutes early, because the game master splits the group before the start.

  • No drinking on site: Questrooms has no alcohol licence, and intoxicated players cannot play. On a bachelor or bachelorette party, bottles for the next stop can wait in the lockers.
  • Food: Questrooms does not serve food for regular bookings.
  • Children: for a kids' birthday of 20 to 30 children aged 8 to 12, the Extended Party package on the kids' parties page is the better fit.

FAQ

Can 15 people play the same escape room?

No. Every room at Questrooms takes up to 6 players, and Time Travellers, made for kids aged 8 to 12, takes up to 7. A group activity for 15 people splits into smaller groups that play at the same time, for example 9 in BACK-TO-BACK, where everyone plays the same VR game, and 6 in Russian Mafia.

Can the whole group play the same game?

Up to 10 players can play the same VR game in BACK-TO-BACK, either as one team or as two teams racing each other. For more than 10, the rest of the group plays another room at the same time. Questrooms has no two identical physical rooms, so the classic rooms always have different stories.

Is the lounge included for a large group?

Yes, the lounge is included in party and event bookings. It has coloured lamps, a projector, armchairs and tables, and groups of 21 to 26 use it between the two rounds. Questrooms does not rent the lounge by the hour on its own, and does not serve food for regular bookings.

How far ahead should a big group book?

Online booking opens 21 days ahead. Groups of 11 to 26 send a request through the private event page, and Questrooms usually answers within a few hours, no later than one business day. Changes and cancellations for groups over 6 people need at least 48 hours' notice, or the fee is 1,000 SEK per room.

Send your group request

Send the date, the number of people and their ages through the private event page. You get a proposal with the split and the total price, usually within a few hours. For a group of 7 to 10, BACK-TO-BACK can be booked directly in the booking calendar, and the full list of rooms is on the classic escape rooms page.
