Kids' birthday party in Stockholm: indoor ideas for winter

Two indoor party packages for kids aged 8 to 12 at Questrooms on Södermalm: escape room, VR, lounge time and your own cake. Prices inside.

A kids' birthday party in Stockholm in winter works best indoors, with a plan that keeps a whole class busy for two hours. At Questrooms on Södermalm, two party packages for ages 8 to 12 combine an escape room and a VR game with party time in a private lounge, and your party has the whole venue. You bring the cake. Below you find what each package includes, the prices, a sample schedule and how to book.

Where can you have an indoor kids' birthday party in Stockholm in winter?

You can have an indoor kids' birthday party at Questrooms, Kocksgatan 21A on Södermalm, a few minutes from Medborgarplatsen. Two packages for children aged 8 to 12 include games in two or four groups, party time in the lounge and the whole venue for your party. The prices are 5,499 SEK and 9,998 SEK.

Both packages are described on the kids' party page. Snow and early darkness do not matter here: every game in the packages is played indoors, and the lounge is in the same basement.

What do the two party packages include?

The Standard Party lasts 2 hours: one hour of games in two groups at the same time, then 45 to 60 minutes of party time in the lounge. The Extended Party lasts 2.5 hours for 20 to 30 children: two rounds of games in four groups, so everyone plays two different games.

Standard Party Extended Party
Length 2 hours 2.5 hours
Children See the kids' party page 20 to 30
Games 1 hour, 2 groups at the same time 2 rounds, 4 groups, two different games each
Lounge 45 to 60 minutes of party time Party time for the groups not playing
Price 5,499 SEK 9,998 SEK
When Sundays at 10:15, other dates on the kids' party page Every day except Saturdays
Entertainer (optional) 200 SEK per round 200 SEK per round, 2 rounds

Group sizes and dates for each package are on the kids' party page. Neither package can run longer than its set time, so plan the cake and presents inside the lounge slot.

Which games do the kids play?

At a Questrooms party the children play in groups. One group plays Time Travellers, a classic escape room, with 4 to 7 kids plus one adult. The other group plays a VR game: Jungle Quest VR with 4 to 6 kids, or Smash Point KIDS VR. In the Extended Party the groups swap, so everyone plays two games.

  • Time Travellers: a family-friendly trip through time, made for ages 8 to 12, at difficulty 2 of 5. The team must find a hidden element and return before the portal closes.
  • Jungle Quest VR: floating islands, magical creatures and puzzles, not scary, recommended from age 10. A parent playing along helps younger kids.
  • Smash Point KIDS VR: a cartoon arena with fast rounds, from age 8, at difficulty 1 of 5. It is a shooting game, built for laughing and competing rather than thinking.

One VR group plays one game per booked hour. Two different VR games in the same slot are not possible, so the birthday child picks one in advance or on site before the start.

What is included in the party room?

The party room at Questrooms includes popcorn, juice, candy, plates, cutlery, a speaker, an Instamix camera with 10 pictures and a fridge for your cake. You may bring your own food and cake. The lounge has coloured lamps, a projector, armchairs and tables, and a box of fresh cookies can be added for 700 SEK.

A sample party schedule

The Standard Party follows a fixed rhythm. This example starts at the Sunday time:

  • 10:15: arrival, jackets on the hooks, the game master explains the rules.
  • 10:30: the games start in two groups at the same time.
  • 11:30: party time in the lounge with fika, snacks, cake and presents.
  • 12:15: payment and goodbyes.

Payment is on site, by card or Swish. Questrooms does not take cash.

Can parents relax while the kids play?

Yes. For Time Travellers you can hire an Entertainer, a professional game master who guides the children inside the room, for 200 SEK per round, or twice that in the Extended Party. Parents then wait in the lounge. Book the Entertainer at least 2 days in advance in the booking comment.

Children under 13 need an adult in the room, so plan one adult for each VR group.

How do you book a kids' party?

Book a kids' party at Questrooms at least 2 days in advance and write your wishes in the booking comment: the number of children, their ages, the games and an Entertainer if you want one. For a last-minute party, call 08-543 544 02. To avoid the 1,500 SEK cancellation fee, contact Questrooms at least 48 hours before the party.

Booking two rooms plus lounge time without a package costs the same as the package. Booking only the games, without the lounge, is cheaper: the normal price per person with 15% off for every child aged 8 to 17.

Players in one room Normal price per person
4 389 SEK
5 379 SEK
6 369 SEK

On a games-only booking, the birthday child can get 20% off instead on request, with an ID that shows the date of birth. Discounts do not stack: each player gets the single best one.

What about teenagers?

Questrooms has no party packages for teenagers aged 13 and up. A teen party books games as usual: Horror Escape TEENS for 3 to 6 players aged 13 to 17, or BACK-TO-BACK in VR for up to 10 friends in two teams, one per VR room. Players under 18 need an adult on site.

Teen groups may add lounge time and bring their own cake and food, as kids' parties can.

FAQ

How many children can come to a kids' party at Questrooms?

The Standard Party at Questrooms is for children aged 8 to 12 in two groups that play at the same time, and the kids' party page lists its group sizes. The Extended Party takes 20 to 30 children in four groups over two rounds. For fewer children, book two rooms plus lounge time, which costs the same.

Can we bring our own birthday cake?

Yes. You may bring your own cake and food to a kids' party at Questrooms, and the party room has a fridge for the cake. Popcorn, juice, candy, plates, cutlery, a speaker and an Instamix camera with 10 pictures are included. A box of fresh cookies can be added for 700 SEK.

Can we stay longer than the package time?

No. The Standard Party at Questrooms lasts 2 hours and the Extended Party 2.5 hours, and neither can run longer because the next booking follows. Plan cake and presents inside the lounge time of 45 to 60 minutes. Arrive on time, since the schedule starts with the rules at the booked arrival time.

When can I book a kids' party in winter?

The Standard Party at Questrooms runs on Sundays at 10:15, and the kids' party page shows any other dates. The Extended Party runs every day except Saturdays. Book at least 2 days ahead with your wishes in the comment, and call 08-543 544 02 for a party at shorter notice.
