An escape room at Questrooms fits 2 to 6 players, so a group of 7 to 10 plays as two teams at the same time. There are three ways to do it: the same VR game in two rooms with BACK-TO-BACK, two classic rooms side by side, or one outdoor game with two teams. This guide covers how each option works, what an escape room for 8 people costs, and how to book it at Kocksgatan 21A on Södermalm in Stockholm.
Can 7 to 10 people play the same escape room?
Not in one room. Every classic escape room at Questrooms takes 2 to 6 players, and Time Travellers, made for kids aged 8 to 12, takes up to 7. A group of 7 to 10 splits into two teams that play at the same time. With BACK-TO-BACK both teams still play the same VR game.
Splitting does not mean playing apart. The two teams start together, finish together and can compare results in the lounge afterwards. For many groups the split adds something: two teams of four or five talk more, and nobody stands at the back of the room watching.
Option 1: BACK-TO-BACK, the same VR game for up to 10 players
BACK-TO-BACK uses both VR rooms at Questrooms at once. Up to 10 players play the same VR escape game at the same time, split across two rooms with 6 and 4 seats.
A group of 7 plays as 4 and 3, a group of 10 as 6 and 4. The maximum is 10 players in total, so teams of 6 and 7 are not possible.
The same format has a competitive mode, Versus: two parallel sessions, one in each VR room, where the teams race each other in the same game. The first team to finish wins. Every VR game at Questrooms supports Versus, so you can pick any title from the VR escape rooms.
How to book: the booking calendar books VR by game, and the room is assigned for you. Book two slots in the same VR game, one for each team, at the nearest start times, and write "Back to back" in the comment. You can also email hello@questrooms.se and the team helps you book.
Option 2: two classic escape rooms at the same time
Your group can also split across two classic rooms that start at the same time, for example Russian Mafia and Horror Escape. Each team plays its own story, and you swap stories over dinner afterwards.
Two rules matter when you pick the rooms. Horror Escape needs at least 3 players and is made for adults. Russian Mafia takes up to 6 players, no exceptions, and has difficulty 5 of 5, so new players should be at least 3. The full list of rooms is on the classic escape rooms page.
Option 3: one outdoor game with two teams
The outdoor games start and finish at Kocksgatan 21A and take about 1.5 hours. A team has at most 6 players, so a group of 7 to 10 plays as two teams at the same time. Each team gets a bag with an iPad and the materials, so nobody needs their own phone.
Operation Mindfall is a spy mission for players aged 16 and up. Magic Portal is a fantasy adventure from age 8, a good choice when the group includes children. If the weather changes, you can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the start, and on the day Questrooms can offer an indoor game or a free reschedule.
Which option fits your group?
Pick BACK-TO-BACK if the whole group wants the same game and one shared result. Pick two classic rooms if the teams want different stories, or if someone prefers not to wear a VR headset. Pick the outdoor game if the group includes children or wants to move around Södermalm.
| Option | Players | Format | Price per person | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BACK-TO-BACK | 7 to 10 | VR, same game, two rooms | 369 SEK | 60 min game, about 1.5 h visit |
| Two classic rooms | 2 to 6 per room | Physical rooms, two stories | priced per room, 369 to 409 SEK | 60 min game, about 1.5 h visit |
| Outdoor game | 2 to 10, max 6 per team | AR on iPads, Södermalm streets | 369 SEK for 7 to 10 | about 1.5 h |
What does an escape room for 8 people cost?
An escape room for 8 people at Questrooms costs 2,952 SEK with BACK-TO-BACK or an outdoor game, which is 369 SEK per person. Two classic rooms of 4 players cost 389 SEK per person, 3,112 SEK in total. Players aged 8 to 17 get 15% off, and the calendar shows the total before you confirm.
The price is always per person and depends on how many players are in each room:
- 2 players: 409 SEK per person
- 3 players: 399 SEK per person
- 4 players: 389 SEK per person
- 5 players: 379 SEK per person
- 6 players: 369 SEK per person
- 7 to 10 players in BACK-TO-BACK or an outdoor game: 369 SEK per person
When a group splits into two classic rooms, each room is priced by its own number of players. A group of 8 split into 5 and 3 pays 5 × 379 SEK plus 3 × 399 SEK, 3,092 SEK in total. Payment happens on site after the game, by card or Swish. Questrooms does not take cash.
What should a group of 7 to 10 know before booking?
Groups of 7 to 10 should plan three things: arrive 15 minutes before the start for the briefing, cancel or change rooms at least 48 hours ahead, and agree on the split before booking. A full visit takes about 1.5 hours, including the 60-minute game, so plan dinner or the next stop after that.
The 48-hour rule applies to every booking with two or more rooms, including BACK-TO-BACK. A late cancellation costs 1,000 SEK per room. If one person drops out, change the number of players through the link in your confirmation SMS up to 15 minutes before the game.
FAQ
Can 7 people play one escape room together?
Only in Time Travellers, the classic room for kids aged 8 to 12, which takes 3 to 7 players. Every other room at Questrooms takes up to 6. A group of 7 adults plays as two teams, for example 4 and 3 in BACK-TO-BACK, where both teams play the same VR game at the same time.
Can two teams compete against each other?
Yes. In Versus mode two teams race each other in the same VR game. It runs as two parallel sessions, one in each VR room, with up to 6 players in one and 4 in the other. The first team to finish wins. Every VR game at Questrooms supports Versus, so the group can choose any title.
Do we pay per room or per person?
Per person. The price depends on how many players are in each room, from 409 SEK per person for 2 players to 369 SEK per person for 6. Groups of 7 to 10 in BACK-TO-BACK or an outdoor game pay 369 SEK each. Split classic rooms are priced room by room.
How early should a big group arrive?
Arrive 15 minutes before your booked time. The game master uses that time to explain the rules and split the group into teams. The game itself lasts 60 minutes, so a full visit at Questrooms takes about 1.5 hours. Being 10 to 15 minutes late usually does not shorten the game much.
