Horror Escape TEENS vs Horror Escape: what is different

Horror Escape TEENS has the same story as Horror Escape, with no actor, more light and lower sound. Compare both and pick one for your group.

Horror Escape TEENS and Horror Escape tell the same story in the same rooms, but TEENS has no live actor, more light and a lower sound level. Both have a jump scare and partial darkness, and both sit at difficulty 3 of 5. A parent asked us: "Horror Escape TEENS says 13 to 17, can adults join too?" Yes, adults aged 18+ can play with the teenagers. This guide compares the two versions at Questrooms on Södermalm and helps your group pick one.

What is the difference between Horror Escape and Horror Escape TEENS?

The difference is in three settings. Horror Escape TEENS has no live actor, more light and a lower sound level than the adult Horror Escape. The story, the rooms, the puzzles, the jump scare and the 60-minute clock are the same. TEENS is made for ages 13 to 17, the adult version for 18+.

Horror Escape Horror Escape TEENS
Made for 18+ (13 to 17 with an adult in the team) 13 to 17 (adults 18+ can join)
Players 3 to 6 (2 players at 511 SEK each) 3 to 6
Difficulty 3 of 5 3 of 5
Live actor Yes, short, no physical contact No
Light Partial darkness Partial darkness, more light
Sound No very loud sounds Lower sound level
Jump scare Yes Yes
Story and zones Same story, several zones Same story, several zones

Both versions run as classic rooms at Kocksgatan 21A, and you book either one in the booking calendar. See all four classic games on the escape rooms page.

Can adults play Horror Escape TEENS?

Yes. Adults can join a team in Horror Escape TEENS, as long as every adult in the team is 18 or older. This suits a parent who wants to play with teenagers, or an older sibling who joins younger ones. The adult plays the full game and counts as one of the 3 to 6 players.

An adult who joins pays the normal price per person. Players aged 13 to 17 get 15% off. A parent who only waits in the reception while the teenagers play does not pay.

Which version should a family with teenagers choose?

Pick by the most cautious player in the group, not the bravest. If anyone is unsure, book Horror Escape TEENS: the same story with more light, lower sound and no actor. If everyone wants the full experience and one player is 18+, book the adult Horror Escape.

There is also a middle option. Write "light version" in the booking comment for the adult Horror Escape, and the game runs without the live actor. The light version removes the actor; more light and a lower sound level come only with TEENS. You can also ask the game master on site to make either game a little scarier or a little milder.

  • Mixed ages, first horror game: Horror Escape TEENS.
  • Teenagers who have played horror before, with a parent: Horror Escape.
  • Adults who want to skip the actor: Horror Escape, light version.
  • A team of only teenagers: Horror Escape TEENS, with a parent's written consent by email to hello@questrooms.se.

What stays the same in both versions?

Almost everything stays the same. In both versions your team moves through several zones, has 60 minutes to outsmart a maniac and escape, and meets one jump scare in partial darkness. The puzzles are identical at difficulty 3 of 5, and a game master follows your team on camera and gives clues when you ask.

Nobody is tied up or chained at the start, and all locks open automatically in an emergency. Neither version has very loud sounds. The story is Questrooms' own and has no link to the Saw films.

FAQ

Is Horror Escape TEENS only for teenagers?

No. Horror Escape TEENS is made for ages 13 to 17, but adults can join the team as long as they are 18 or older. Nobody under 13 can play, and a team of only teenagers needs a parent's written consent by email to hello@questrooms.se.

Is Horror Escape TEENS less scary than Horror Escape?

Yes. Horror Escape TEENS has no live actor, more light and a lower sound level, so it feels milder. It still has a jump scare and partial darkness, so it is not a children's game. The story and the puzzles are the same as in the adult Horror Escape, at difficulty 3 of 5.

Can a 17-year-old play the adult Horror Escape?

Yes, if at least one person in the team is 18 or older. Players aged 13 to 17 can play the adult Horror Escape with an adult in the team. The 18+ on the game card is a recommendation for the full experience with the live actor, and the group decides which version fits.

How many players do you need for Horror Escape TEENS?

Horror Escape TEENS takes 3 to 6 players. If your group is larger, split into two teams and play two classic rooms at the same time, for example Horror Escape TEENS and Russian Mafia. Players aged 13 to 17 get 15% off the per-person price, and you pay on site after the game.
