An escape room at Questrooms takes 60 minutes of play, and the whole visit takes about 1.5 hours. Arrive 15 minutes before your booked time for the rules and the story, and plan 5 to 10 minutes after the game for payment and a debrief. "How long before our time should we be there?" is a common question in the chat, so here is the full timeline, the rule for late arrival and how long the outdoor games take.
How long does an escape room take at Questrooms?
A classic or VR escape room at Questrooms takes up to 60 minutes of play. With 15 minutes before the game and 5 to 10 minutes after it, plan about 1.5 hours for the whole visit. The outdoor games take 1.5 hours on average and 2 hours at most, and a shorter 1-hour version is available on request.
| Format | Game time | Whole visit |
|---|---|---|
| Classic escape room | up to 60 min | about 1.5 h |
| VR escape room | up to 60 min | about 1.5 h |
| Outdoor game | 1.5 h on average, max 2 h, 1 h version on request | start and finish at Kocksgatan 21A |
| Team Start, Team Boost | 60 min | 1.5 h |
| Business Challenge, Corporate Takeover | 60 min per group, two rounds | 2.5 h |
| Quest to Go at your venue | 60 to 90 min | plus intro and award ceremony |
Larger groups play in rounds, which is why the bigger team building packages take 2.5 hours.
When should you arrive for an escape room?
Arrive 15 minutes before your booked time. The game master uses those minutes to explain the rules, answer questions and tell you the story, and the game starts at your booked time. Use the minutes before to hang up your jacket and put bags and valuables in the lockers.
A booking at 18:00 looks like this:
- 17:45: arrive at Kocksgatan 21A, rules and story
- 18:00: the game starts
- 19:00: the game ends, at the latest
- about 19:10: debrief, payment and goodbye
The entrance is in a basement near Medborgarplatsen: look for the Questrooms sign and ring the doorbell.
What happens if you are late?
Being 10 to 15 minutes late usually does not change your game time much at Questrooms. Longer delays may shorten the game, because the schedule is tight. The 15 minutes before the game are there for the briefing, so arriving on time protects your full 60 minutes of play.
What happens when the 60 minutes run out?
Nothing bad happens. When the time runs out, you leave the room or take off the VR headset, and the game master goes through the game with you. You can ask for hints at any time during the 60 minutes, as many as your team wants.
See the classic escape rooms for the difficulty of each game, from 1 to 5 locks.
How long does an outdoor escape game take?
An outdoor escape game at Questrooms takes 1.5 hours on average and 2 hours at most. Both games, Operation Mindfall and Magic Portal, start and finish at Kocksgatan 21A, and the route covers a few kilometres at a slow pace in the Katarina-Sofia area of Södermalm. A shorter 1-hour version is available on request.
Each team gets a bag with an iPad and materials, so nobody needs their own phone. Operation Mindfall is a spy mission for 16+, and you can take coffee breaks along the way.
FAQ

No. A VR escape room at Questrooms takes up to 60 minutes, the same as a classic room, and the whole visit takes about 1.5 hours. You can sit or stand during the whole game, and you move with the controllers, so a full hour in VR does not mean an hour of walking.
