A teen birthday party in Stockholm works when the teenagers get to do something they would choose themselves: a scare, a team battle or a hard puzzle. At Questrooms on Södermalm, teens aged 13 to 17 can play Horror Escape TEENS, VR games made for 13+ and a VR team battle for up to 10 players. There is no special teen party package, so you book the games as usual. This guide covers the games, the age rules and the price.
Is there a teen party package at Questrooms?
No. Questrooms has party packages only for children aged 8 to 12. For teens aged 13 to 17, you book the games as usual, for example Horror Escape TEENS for 3 to 6 players or BACK-TO-BACK in VR for up to 10. Every player aged 13 to 17 gets 15% off.
The kids' party packages are built around Time Travellers and Jungle Quest VR, which are made for younger children. Teens usually want something else, and the games below are chosen for that. A teen group may still add lounge time after the games and bring its own cake and food, as kids' parties can.
Which games do teenagers enjoy?
Teenagers usually pick a scare or a competition. Horror Escape TEENS is a horror room made for ages 13 to 17, Cyberpunk VR and the Dream Hackers VR games are made for 13+, and BACK-TO-BACK lets two teams race each other in the same VR game. All games last 60 minutes.
| Game | Format | Age | Players | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Horror Escape TEENS | Classic room | 13 to 17 | 3 to 6 | Horror, no actor, a jump scare |
| House of Fear 2 VR | VR | 13+ | 2 to 4 | Horror investigation |
| Cyberpunk VR | VR | 13+ | 2 to 6 | Heist mission, not scary |
| Dream Hackers VR: The Book of Memories | VR | 13+ | 2 to 6 | Shooter and puzzles |
| Prison Escape VR | VR | 15+ | 2 to 6 | Hard breakout, difficulty 5 of 5 |
| Russian Mafia | Classic room | 12+ | 2 to 6 | Hardest classic room, 5 of 5 |
- Horror Escape TEENS: the same story as the adult Horror Escape, with no live actor, more light and a lower sound level. It still has a jump scare, and the team moves through several zones.
- Cyberpunk VR: a team of cyborgs breaks into a high-security archive to steal data. Difficulty 4 of 5.
- Dream Hackers VR: both parts mix shooting with puzzles. Together with Smash Point KIDS VR, they are the only VR games with shooting.
The full list of VR games is on the VR escape rooms page.
How does a party for 7 to 10 teens work?
A party for 7 to 10 teens works well with BACK-TO-BACK, which runs two parallel sessions, one per VR room. Up to 10 players split into two teams, up to 6 in one room and up to 4 in the other, and race in the same VR game. The faster team wins, and every VR game has this mode.
The booking calendar books by game and assigns the VR room, so for BACK-TO-BACK you email hello@questrooms.se with the date, the game and the number of players. More on the format is on the BACK-TO-BACK page.
- 7 to 10 teens: BACK-TO-BACK in VR, or two classic rooms at the same time, for example Horror Escape TEENS and Russian Mafia.
- 11 to 13 teens: part of the group plays VR while the rest plays a classic room at the same time.
- 14 or more: write to Questrooms for a split into three rooms or more.
What are the age rules for teens?
Teens aged 13 to 17 usually need one responsible adult on site, who can wait in the reception and does not pay. Age counts by calendar year, so a child who turns 13 later this year counts as 13. Teens do not need an ID, unless the birthday person wants the birthday discount.
- A team of only 13 to 17 year olds: plays Horror Escape TEENS with a parent's written consent by email to hello@questrooms.se. With that email, no adult needs to be on site.
- Adults in Horror Escape TEENS: adults can join the teens, and every adult in the room must be 18+.
- The adult Horror Escape: recommended for 18+, with a live actor. Teens aged 13 to 17 can play it if at least one person in the team is 18+.
- Under 13: neither horror room is open to players under 13.
What does a teen birthday party cost?
A teen birthday party at Questrooms costs 409 to 369 SEK per person before discounts, depending on the number of players in the room, and every player aged 13 to 17 gets 15% off. In BACK-TO-BACK, 7 to 10 players pay 369 SEK per person before the teen discount.
The birthday person can get 20% off instead, on request, with an ID that shows the date of birth. Discounts do not stack: each player gets the single best one. You pay on site after the game, by card or Swish. A booking with 2 rooms or more must be cancelled at least 48 hours before the start, or the fee is 1,000 SEK per room.
