Yes, two teams can compete against each other in a VR escape room. In Versus mode at Questrooms, a group of up to 10 players splits into two teams, and each team plays the same VR game in its own VR room at the same time. The first team to finish wins. Versus runs in BACK-TO-BACK, the format that uses both VR rooms at Kocksgatan 21A on Södermalm at once. Here is how it works, what it costs and how to book it.
How does a VR escape room competition work?
In a VR escape room competition at Questrooms, a group of 7 to 10 players splits into two teams. Versus runs as two parallel sessions, one in each VR room, and the teams race each other in the same game. Both teams start together and solve the same puzzles separately. The team that finishes first wins.
- Book the same VR game twice at the same start time, one booking per team, and write "Versus" in the comment.
- Arrive 15 minutes early for the rules and the team split.
- Each team starts the game in its own VR room. Hints are available in every VR game.
- The first team to finish wins.
How many players can play team vs team VR?
Team vs team VR at Questrooms takes 7 to 10 players in two teams. The two VR rooms have 10 seats together, 6 in one room and 4 in the other, so one team has up to 6 players and the other up to 4. Every VR game at Questrooms supports Versus, so the group can choose any title.
A group of 7 plays as 4 and 3, a group of 9 as 5 and 4, a group of 10 as 6 and 4. For 6 players or fewer, one VR room fits the whole group, and you play together as one team.
Versus compared with Co-op and classic rooms
| Format | Players | How it works | Who wins |
|---|---|---|---|
| VR Versus | Up to 10, two teams | Two parallel sessions of the same VR game, one per room | The first team to finish |
| VR Co-op | Up to 8, one team | One shared game session, in games built for large groups such as Escape the Worlds | Nobody: the whole group shares one goal |
| Two classic rooms | 2 to 6 per room | Two different rooms with different stories | No direct race |
| Outdoor game | 2 to 10, max 6 per team | Several teams play at the same time on Södermalm | Teams compare results |
Questrooms has no two identical physical rooms, so two teams cannot race in the same classic room. Co-op mode is the choice when the group wants one shared result instead of a winner.
Which VR games work best for a race?
All VR games at Questrooms support Versus, so pick by age and difficulty. Mission Sigma VR (10+, difficulty 2 of 5) suits mixed groups and first-timers. Cyberpunk VR (13+, 4 of 5) and Prison Escape VR (15+, 5 of 5) suit teams that have played before. Smash Point KIDS VR (8+) is an arena game where players battle each other.
In Mission Sigma VR, both teams race to stop the same countdown on a trapped tower. Age and difficulty for every title are on the VR escape rooms page.
What does VR Versus cost?
VR Versus costs 369 SEK per person for 7 to 10 players, the same price as any BACK-TO-BACK booking. Ten players pay 3,690 SEK in total. Players aged 8 to 17 get 15% off, and you pay on site after the game, by card or Swish.
How to book Versus
The booking calendar books VR by game and assigns the room. Book the same VR game twice at the same start time, one booking for each team, and write "Versus" in the comment. If you are unsure, email hello@questrooms.se and ask the team to set it up.
Like every booking with two rooms, a Versus booking must be cancelled or changed at least 48 hours ahead, or a fee of 1,000 SEK per room applies.
