Summer in Stockholm is about the archipelago, swimming and long evenings. But even in summer you sometimes need a break indoors: after a day of sightseeing, with kids who want to do something new, or when your group wants an activity before dinner. Here are ideas for indoor activities in Stockholm in summer, for tourists, families and colleagues.
Indoor ideas in summer
- Museums: check summer opening hours and exhibitions on each museum's website.
- Swimming pools and climbing gyms: active options for a break from the sun.
- An escape room or VR game: 60 minutes of play indoors at our venue, a cosy basement at Kocksgatan 21A, a few minutes from Medborgarplatsen.
For tourists in Stockholm
An escape room is a way to experience something together that is not in every guidebook.
- Language: the briefing is given in English or Swedish. The puzzles are not language-dependent, and everything that must be read in the physical rooms is available in English. The VR games are often available in more languages.
- Location: a few minutes from Medborgarplatsen metro station on Södermalm.
- Payment: by card or Swish on site, in SEK. Cash is not accepted.
- Outdoors in 16 languages: Magic Portal is an AR game on the streets around Södermalm from age 8.

For families on the summer break
- Time Travellers (ages 8–12, 3–7 players): an escape room with no scary content, with an adult in the room.
- Jungle Quest KIDS VR (10+): a puzzle adventure among floating islands. We recommend a parent plays along, especially for kids under 10.
- Smash Point KIDS VR (8+): a cartoon-style VR arena game.
- Kids' parties: the party packages for ages 8–12 can also be booked on summer weekdays, on request. Read more about kids' birthday parties.
Children aged 8–12 and teens aged 13–17 get 15% off.
For colleagues and friends
- Summer after-work: a game after work, then dinner in SoFo. For companies there are packages for 8–44 people on team building.
- BACK-TO-BACK: two teams compete in the same VR game, for up to 10 players.
- Escape the Worlds: a VR series with ten worlds, where you continue on your next visit.
We are open at Midsummer and on other public holidays, but the hours can differ. You see available slots in the booking calendar.
